Gold in the Dirt

Power versus Character

One speaker said, “Power without character, it puffs you up. Character without power, it dries you up. But power coupled with the right character, it rises you up.”  John Maxwell was right when he said, “It’s your attitude not your aptitude determines your altitude”. Skills and talents can be found everywhere but right attitude who can bear?

Self-Image versus Projected Image

Self-image is how you see yourself. Projected image is how other people see you. Sometimes we got caught up and bent to what other people thought of us. No one ever attempted to believe us and allow our glory to shine. No one dared to give us a platform to fly in our career. We bent ourselves to a negative projected image. Remember, self-image is your mental picture of yourself. Your picture in your imagination determines how you are going to treat yourself and behave. Only the truth regarding your identity will reveal what your true nature is. You are a genius. You are not a worthless nobody, you are a worthwhile somebody. You are a powerful champion but no one tell this to you.  You are a winner. Five million sperm cells swam and compete to meet the egg cell and one sperm cell emerged a winner and that winner is you. You fingerprint is unique saying to you that you are one of a kind. Rejoice in your uniqueness.  You have a destiny. There is gold inside of you!

Golden Buddha in Earthly Suit

I read a story mentioned by Myles Munroe in one of his books regarding the desire of the Thailand government to build a national highway. Incidentally, if not accidentally the construction is about to intersect to a place where a giant Buddha made of clay was positioned.  With this, to find the solution they need to find a backhoe or an excavator to remove that giant Buddha made of clay. To their amazement, while they are moving using an excavator, the giant Buddha made of clay crumbled. Surprisingly, right before their very eyes they found that there was a giant Buddha made of gold inside. There is gold inside that clay! Many people around focused on the clay more the gold. They focused more on your dirt more than the glory lied unearthed inside of you.

Crumpled, Trampled but Not Toppled

Paper money is a good example of how you illustrate yourself. If you are going to draw one-thousand peso- bill from your pocket, how much is its value? Start to crumple it. How is the value? Without the shadow of doubt you will just utter, “one-thousand peso- bill”. What if you put down the crumpled money, how much is the value?  Still, it is a one-thousand peso- bill. What if you trample over that money several times, how much is the value? Still, it is a one-thousand peso- bill. What if you jump over it several times, how much will be its value? Still, it is a one-thousand peso- bill. Then you get the money, how much is its value? Still, it is one thousand. In the same way, try to reflect at yourself a bit. And try to realize even in a fraction of a second and make a personal decision. No matter how this world crumple you, putting you down, trample over and jump over you several times, there is a small still voice from the deepest of you that whispers, “Like that money, your value remains the same…”  Nothing changed still you are God’s magnificent creation and His beloved.
