Attitudes in Memory
All men were genius and there is one missing in which man can unleash his ingenuity, his ATTITUDE. I was once stumbled in one of John Maxwell’s sayings about attitude in one of his books entitled Winning Attitude. It goes with this:
WHAT IS ATTITUDE?
It is the advance man of our true selves
Its roots are inward but its fruit are outward
It is our best friend or our worst enemy
It is more honest and more consistent than our words.
It is an outward look based on past experiences
It is a thing which draws people to us or repels them.
It is never content until it is expressed.
It is the librarian of our past.
It is the speaker of our present.
It is the prophet of our future.

I focused on the three last things/. It says there that our attitude is the librarian of the past, the speaker of the present and prophet of the future. It goes without saying that if we want to know who we are long time ago, you just tract your attitude. Why? It is because our attitude is the librarian of the past. Currently, if you want to have the information regarding yourself, look at your attitude. Why? It is because our attitude is the speaker of the present. And lastly if you want to predict who you will become in the age to come, look at your attitude. Why? It is because our attitude is the prophet of the future.
How to Form Our Attitude?
Another saying struck me. It goes something like this:
Be careful of your WORDS, they will become your THOUGHTS.
Be careful of your THOUGHTS, they will become your ACTIONS.
Be careful of your ACTIONS, they will become your HABITS.
Be careful of your HABITS, they will become your ATTITUDE.
Be careful of your ATTITUDE, they will become your DESTINY.
A great deal of meditation is important for us to go far MEMORY. The challenge that we are about to face here is not the strenuous tasks of mastering and honing different mnemonic techniques but the development of the right attitude. The saying about the formation of the right attitude teaches us how we are going to come up in our own destiny. That saying showed us that destiny is predictable by just analyzing the quality of words that became our mental inputs. Let’s go to them one by one.

Spoken words versus unspoken words
Words come in two forms. Spoken words and Unspoken words. Spoken words are those words that can be perceived via our sense of hearing such as radio forecast, podcast, MP3 player, sound and other music we heard from different sources. Unspoken words are voluminous. They are those words perceived via our sense of seeing such as pictures, book text, body language, images, etc. Others can be perceived by our remaining sense of tasting, smelling and touch.
Our Perception Percentage
Based on research, 89% of what we perceived, we perceived visually, 10% of what perceived, we perceived auditory and 1% using our other senses. Meaning, our sense of seeing is very powerful among all the senses that we have. This is why the saying that, “Action speaks louder than your words is true”. Why? It is because action cannot be heard but can only be perceived visually. Another research says, 80 to 90% of communication is non-verbal. Why? It is because non-verbal communication like body language and facial expression cannot be heard but can only be perceived visually. And lastly, the saying that, “Picture speaks a thousand words” is also true. Why? It is because picture again cannot be heard but can only be perceived by our sense of seeing. Therefore, when we hear radio, music, podcast, crowing of roster, sounds from different sources, that constitutes 10% of our perception. Once we see pictures, structures, imagery, body language, facial expression, etc., that constitutes 89% of our perception. Taken from that knowledge, how about the movie, television shows and those rampant youtube videos flooding in the internet? That’s an astounding 99% of our perception! If picture speaks a thousand words, videos speak a million words!
Every word we heard and see creates pictures in our imagination. Even though somebody told you not to think of a pink elephant eating golden marshmallows, lo and behold, the image comes at an instance. Words are very powerful. They have creative power. In painting, words are the paints, our minds are the canvasses. In other words, are words will eventually become our thought patterns. With this realization, taking words as our day to day sensory inputs must be administered painstakingly. Why? Garbage words will definitely produce garbage thoughts. The banner for G.I.G.O. will really be waved in this scenario. Garbage In, Garbage Out. In this scenario, I therefore came out with this quotation, “The quality of words that we are perceived determines the quality of thoughts that we are conceived. Therefore, we can really predict what will really be achieved.
